To whom it may concern;
I, Reginald T. Claire the Third, do herby submit my wife, Elizabeth Claire, into the care of The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls. I have tried for the past three years to come to grips with the way she behaves. Her fits of depression lead to hysterical boughts of sobbing. She rejects all suggestions of performing her wifely duties. Manic episodes keep her awake long into the night painting or sewing. It is my sincere hope that Miss Mournington and her staff will be able to help my wife behave as any appropriate and gentile woman should.
Sincerely yours, Reginald T. Claire
